What mods have you done to your buggy? Running box stock?
that's a very good question. i've got integy alloy rear uprights, dynamite maxlife clutch shoes, rc8b drive cup, pin holder and front top arms, 3racing fuel filter and HB gripping wheel nuts
am actually looking for other performance hop ups to add but can't decideon what to buy
Rear aluminum hub carrier?
My 8.2 is box stock at the exception of a Dynamite servo horn that I installed last week. I'll install the FT rear hub carrier this week, just for the peace of mind.
I have personally found the car to be great out of the box...
I have made just a few upgrades...
1. FT rear alum. hubs... Why: Because I like having the addtional camber link location as a tuning option
2. Kyosho LT Blue Springs... Why: I like the spring rate and the way the car feels on the track, however the stock silvers are really good
3. 1.3x8 Pistons... Why: They just seem to settle the buggy better than stock pistons but again stock ones are really good
4. In-line fuel filter.... Why: No-Brainer...
That is pretty much it... I know you see many drivers with tons of upgrades on the car and many have some great advantages but you can be extreamly competitive with an out of the box roller...
How would you compare the difference between the Kyosho LT Blue and the AE Silver springs?
To me the LT Blue Kyosho springs feel a bit more progressive. So the car feels light on it's feet for most of the track but take the big jumps really well. Agian the AE silvers felt good but the Kyosho springs to me felt just a little better.
two little things also did was epoxy glue the nuts that hold the wing and i dremeled part of the rear mudguards to clear the wheels at full droop
How much droop you have? I have 120mm and the guards don't rub against the wheels
120 as well but it sits so close to the wheel that it rubs when flexed
I just installed the new vertical caster blocks... Can't wait to see how it will goes
put new vertical caster blocks on for last race meet. put ghea c and d plates on for race meet tomorrow.
I raced mine today, I found the steering smoother
Send a link to the virticals plz
All of 'em.
Some like the 0 hole tower mod, some don't. I didn't do it and the steering mod
Maybe on my next 8.2
put rc8b wing mount on as it sits higher- found more downforce on high speed to keep it planted.
Avid bearings, caster blocks, carbon diff top plate, GHEA shaft inputs, avid shock pins, Keyosho Light blue springs, akerman plate, and Thunder tiger front bumper .
Factory Team Stock
RC8FT FT steering plate, FT alum axles, 8B alum arm holders, 8B battery box, Ofna gold alum locknuts.
