    I have never understand what is the difference between the 540 and 550 motors, I mean the real rezon for the difference and the advantage of this differences.

    I hope someone acn explain it to me

    550 motors have less RPM and more torque/power. They reach their max performance at less RPM but they draw more current

    540 motors = V8 engines
    550 motors = V8 diesel engines

    In the real world, the only class where I would use the 550 motor is 4x4 short course which needs the extra motor torque due to their weight and 4wd drivetrain. In all other classes the 540 is a better choice.
