Get a RPM oriented tuned pipe is you want speed

No matter what tuned pipe you'll use, with the right gearing, you'll go fast. LRp .30 and .32 are a torque and RPM monsters.

I tested a .30 in my RC8 buggy, it was insane!

What would anyone suggest for a tuned pipe for an MGT 4.6? I am looking to improve overall performance, I just want something better than stock. Thanks

The stock tuned pipe is not bad at all. Good torque pipe.

Back in the days, I was running a XTM Mammoth tuned pipe mounted on the side (you'll new a new header). The pipe improved the overall performance and was easy to find on EBay. Not sure if the pipe still available or not.

It is just a stock 8.0 MGT. He was looking at the Team Associated tuned pipe for the 8.0, but again I just was wondering if there are any other aftermarket manufacturers out there you would recommend. Thanks

    8.0... ah that's a totally different thing... ;)

It is almost impossible to find an after market tuned pipe for that engine due to the header design

Thanks for the info, one more thing, does a tuned pipe make it quieter?? And does it make the power smoother, not as jerky?? Those are what I have been told.

It is hard to say, different tuned pipes make different torque and rpm. As for the noise, it will also be hard to make a 8.0 quieter, this is a big big big block!

Many years ago I had a Fantom tuned pipe that made my engine really quieter. The pipe was made of steel.

The Force 32 has a lot of torque.

You want more torque or more top end ?

The JP1 and JP2 tuned pipes are still popular. Dynamite also have tuned pipes for torque or rpm

Lol, I'm not real sure, something that can get the paint on the buggy to blister would be nice.
I know the main gear from the motor has 14 teeth and even one extra tooth will make eyebrows prick up and take notice at top speed somewhat but at the expense of take off speed, but being honest, I'm not ready to start fooling around with gearing with the exception of maybe larger dia wheels for now.
I've been hovering around the Jamin and YouTube site, I see a lot of buggies with 5.00cc and lower coupled to JP2-3 pipes but nothing with upgrades from there, there is from memory a JP 5&6, is there an issue hidden here or is it costs or something.
Noise isn't an issue here for me as I would be one of the old' geezers keeping the youngenz awake with the noise and chasing their cats hehe.
    Back on topic

Mid to top range bolt on will be good for a start. Super chargers have also been spotted , but without any recorded data or printed spec sheets of improved Power curves, I've just put this down to ppl fooling around,
Why I feel like the big kid in the lolly shop with a fist full of coins?

If you want acceleration, I would get a torque tuned pipe even if your engine produces a lot of torque....

If you want incredible accelerations..... Go electric :) LOL
