I dont know if you guys ever replace the diff shims on the outside of the front and rear diffs in the gearbox. But i just installed some new ones and boy did it make the mesh better without to much play which it had before and quieter !

It seemed like on the track my E-Truggy was quicker and faster i dont think im crazy lol.

Well i havnt really checked the diff mesh intill this year while i was in a teardown . So its hard to say but i replaced my two weeks ago i would guess 4 mouths to 6 mouths you can tell somewhat. When there is more play in the mesh and when the shims have kind of deep groves on them or really if there thinner thats the best way to tell !

Honestly i dont really know when you supposed to replace the gear boxes i do have a season on them i guess when you put the gear box bearings in and they fall out right away or there really sloppy i guess thats when you replace them. None of guys i know that races the RC8T ever mentioned they replaced the gear boxes.

I might just buy some for the hell of it.

The only gearbox I've replaced was on my RC8 after I land darted it ;)

But I guess with time, the plastic where the shims go should wear.. Just a thought !

    Replace the boxes when u:
    A: strip a screw
B: melt it from a locking up bearing

These are the only reasons i have. I've lawn darted a few times and stripped the B plate screws.
