Mark is a great guy and can pretty much help you with anything. And he loves his 44's so he can help with basically anything. I can help to but i'm not as smart as he is.

hi guys, some help here. I run e B44 with a reedy 6100kv combo and having a heating problem with the ESC. I have a 18T pinion and the original spur 84T on 4800mah 2s3p 25C battery. what do you think I should do? and also same setup on a B44.1 but it has a 81T spur

With it being a sensorless ESC they will get hot. The B44 is hard on speedos. You can add a fan to it to help keep it cool. as for gearing iI run a 19/81 with a LRP 6.5 so thats not far off.

XP esc fan option Part number 29142 there about $10..

Guess another question is how long are you running it to get hot? Racing like 4 to 5 min or over 10?

I was testing it on e big parking lot, some frnd says to lower the pinion to 15 or 16T since the B44 spur comes with 84T, I don't know why but the B44.1 comes with 81T spur, I thought the bigger the KV the smaller the pinion has to be but what about the spur so I really that I'm gonna have to play with the gears

Thats tru to a certain point. If ya plan on racing just gear to the track. Heats and mains are usally only 4 to 5 min. Cause as far as gear ration the 18/84 is 4.6 and the 18/81 is a 4.5 gear ratio. So theres not a huge difference. I run a LRP sxxTC v2 and it even gets warm after a race and thats with a fan.

This is an older thread but I thought I’d ask anyways. Looking at getting back into dirt and I’m looking at used TA b44. Are these cars still competitive at local club level, parts still readily available? And last but not least is 100 dollars a fair price for non broken roller?

Well basically the b44 and b44.1 use the same parts so yes you will find all parts easily even though you can always upgrade it.
A $100 for a non broken roller is a good deal for shure, these AE are for me the best. I have a b44 and a b44.1. I love them

    1. Anything in particular I should look for when I inspect it? Parts that are common breaks? really don’t want to buy a lemon.

Take a good look at the shocks tower and spin one wheel see if all 4 wheels spin
Its a 4 wheel drive so they are supposed to turn all together. Breaks works with the ESC controller
That's the electronic part that you will need to buy when your roller is ready
