Are you using the stock servo saver, gray one.
    Throw it away!

Order the heavy duty black and Chrome one #25162 xp/Futaba
    #25166 Hightech #25167 Airtronics/JR

Dealt with this one for years car world work great on slow corners high speed and car would not turn.
Too much traction and car would not work the gray servo saver spring is to weak.

Run both tires at 1/2 to 1 degree camber the same on both sides if on road course.
WGT only sauce inner half of tires.
On race day I'll do a quick full treatment for a minute or two then wipe off.
Let sit, then apply to half of tire.
As traction comes up less time and 1/3 of tire.
Less on rear so it doesn't push

If you look in the manual the gray one is labeled as a Airtronics.
So if the gray one is working I'd guess the Airtronics/ JR #25167 would be the right one .

It's nice when the steering works. LOL

    Test as your changing.
Turn on car with radio next to you hold front wheels.
Turn wheel on the radio. Should notice sevo saver spring flexinging and not much resistance as you hold on to the front tires.
Now replace servo saver with fancy chrome one.
Hold tires, and make sure the rear of the car won't hit any thing! LOL

So you notice servo moving and not a lot of torque on the wheels.
Servo saver doing its job, flexing but to much.

Once you get the real one. Do the same test and the rear of the car will move.
Showing that the chrome one is way stronger.
Have had it on for two years and servos still working perfect.
So it flexes when you smack the wall, not when you are trying to make the corner.

You should be able to fix it just by doing this.
If the throttle channel is forward then reverse the channel and car should work. Or Visa versa

Then reprogram the ESC so you get the correct and full range of throttle out of the esc

    Good luck

Your radio should have a servo reversal function.
Every radio I've used since the eighties has a function or a small secret switch that flips the transmitter

Maybe the guy you bought it from had his channel flipped and this explains why the car is set up in this way.

I have not used a spectrum remote .
Make a post on just the radio and see if someone with experience with it may lend a hand?
